The Power of Jesus
Jesus Christ told His disciples that His power and authority was unlimited in the doing of the Father’s will here on earth. Luke tells us of an occasion when Jesus, during the service in the synagogue at Capernaum, was teaching so convincingly that those present “were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. “
The gospel record confirms the fact that Christ’s Power was unlimited here on earth during His short visit. As the close of His earthly ministry approached, Jesus made it known to His disciples that His power and authority extended into heaven itself. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).
