The Lord Shall Laugh!
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” Psalm 42:5
We are at a time in our history spoken of by our Lord when His disciples asked Him what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the world. One of the signs was that His people would be hated of all nations. “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:9-11
I believe we have come to that dark and evil day. All the peoples of the world are indeed beginning to hate us. It is a phenomenon of our time. This hatred does not make sense — we have been benevolent and kind to all the peoples of the world — yet our Lord said that it would be so, and so we knew that it would come eventually.
Having now come to that time, one could easily find himself downcast and despondent. Each day the prophets of doom warn us of a pandemic, and tell us that millions will die if we do not comply with their mandates. But it simply is not true. It is just an attack of the enemy, designed to keep God’s people in fear and subjugation — and so far it has been working.
People of God! wake up and take courage! There is no pandemic other than the pandemic of fear, and we know where that comes from. It does not come from God. For the LORD hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Fear is the dark room where negatives are developed, but we are not children of darkness. We are children of light!
We have a sound mind and we will not fear! We will trust in the LORD! For we know God will have the last Word! He will come to our aid and he will deliver His people! You can count on it!
There are only three places in the Bible where God laughs, and each are in regard to the demise of those who have devised wicked and evil plans against God’s people and have assaulted His anointed. “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” Psalm 2:1-4
“The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.” Psalm 37:12-13
“But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.” Psalm 59:8-9
I am looking forward to the time when God will laugh! I’m getting giddy just thinking about it!
