I guess the challenge we have today is to live in the world but not of the world. There are many good things in the world and many good people in the world. We just have to make sure that the worldly things and the worldly people do not lead us astray. What has the world really got to offer us anyway?

There is a time coming very soon that all evil will be exposed, and Jesus is coming to destroy this evil. Knowing Christ and having faith in Him is our hope, not some worldly system that is destroying the world and destroying our souls. All the signs are there that He is coming very soon.

It is an interesting time that we are living in now. I have noticed more and more that people are having a hard time. When I talk to my neighbours or my friends or listen to the radio talk shows, people are saying that they are having many troubles. Many have health problems; many are having financial difficulties, and many have family or addiction problems.

We live in a fallen world and unfortunately are affected by many things in this world that we cannot avoid. James 3:13-18 offers these wise words to us, “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Wow, we are living in desperate times. At church on Sunday we sang this lovely old hymn “Take Up Thy Cross, the Savior said, if though wouldst my disciple be”. In this secular world where today’s gods are from the worldly ideas our belief in Jesus Christ our Saviour looks like failure to them.

The Lord is with us when we have not turned away from Him and have not bowed our knee to other gods. Although we may appear to be weak right now, He is that still small voice that is guiding us always and is leading us to victory at the end.

These vain people are full of their own abilities and worth, that they have no time for our God. They meditate day and night on ways to destroy our God and His Word. They are angry and in the end their attempts will be futile and worthless.

It is hard for us to understand what is happening, but Jesus said to stay close to Him and he will guide us through all that will take place. We must be willing to surrender ourselves to Him and to trust that He knows what is best for us. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in the storm, but His Hand is always there to hold on to and we know that we can trust Him to keep us safe.

Global food crisis are predicted ahead as extreme weather events devastate crops and fields around the world. And it is not just happening in the USA.

As wonderful and beautiful as the natural beauty is though it cannot change our hearts. Only the Word of God and His laws can do that. That is why we cannot worship nature; we must worship God for His creation.
