Reflections

I sit here quietly at my favourite spot
As darkness spreads its cover of night
I hear the echo of the ocean beckoning
It seems far off yet I see its closeness
And I feel its cool breath on my body

Still warm sand makes for me a cushion
As an ancient log gives my back rest
Distant sounds create the symphony
Inspiring the stars to give up their light
Offering a quiet peace for my journey

It’s my thoughts which travel this night
Seeking solace and an answer from God
He will know how my life must unfold 
He will set my feet toward a firmer path
And whisper His Plan for me into my ear

As the music of the night bathes my soul
And rays from the heavens touch deeply
I sense a light glowing brightly within me
Preparing a path between me and my God
Then, I cock my ear and wait for wisdom
