Hold Tight
If you watch our BBC TV programme “Homes under the Hammer”, which features people buying semi derelict properties in need of renovation, a term which often features is ‘back to brick’. This means that all of the old plasterwork, boarding, wallpaper and woodwork has to be stripped completely. All of the old layers of decoration and alteration binned. in order to have a sound basis for reconstruction.
It is much the same with us or will be. For we as individuals have been covered with multi levels of false ideas, information, attitudes and responses. We have become so saturated with false notions that we have lost touch with reality, spiritual reality, that is. Our Lord Jesus Christ had to die on the cross to commence this programme of reconstruction. Of course, He was not understood, even by those closest to him, who could only glimpse a veiled reflection of His mission and glory. Such people and they were in the minority, who were on the Lord’s side, had to rely on faith, trust and obedience to inform them of the pathway to come. Today the false messiahs are having a field day as the world has abandoned, as the song goes, ‘what little sense it had’, to follow pagan, alien and at worst satanic modes of conduct and belief. We cannot even see through a glass darkly.
No wonder we are in an unprecedented (this word was vastly overused during the so-called COVID pandemic), and disastrous situation. Indeed, the Lords of Lies are in almost total control.
We have lost our connection to the Lord God because we have deliberately transgressed against His most Holy Laws and Injunctions, which were set out to govern our relationships with our fellow human beings and the Almighty. We thought that we knew better but all we have achieved is to move fast forward to the precipice. The Lord’s answer to this will be to have us stripped back to basics, which will be for most, if not all, an exceedingly uncomfortable process.
More than ever, we need to be continually awake and alert, for the devil goes about seeking those he can destroy and many there are who give him ample opportunity. We are going to have to hold on tight to God’s spiritual reality so that we may have a chance of surviving all of the turbulence which the Bible describes as the worst trouble since the world began, most likely set off by the collapse of the entire corrupt monetary system. Those who warn of the troubles to come will be attacked mercilessly, for it is always the world’s way to condemn the messenger rather than to respond to the message (excepting for rare instances such as that of the prophet Jonah). And as things get worse, so we will be assured that everything is actually improving, and all problems have been foreseen. We will be told to trust and obey the very authorities which have betrayed us.
The chief reason for the coming final conflict can be found in the book of Obadiah, where it categorically states that the House of Esau shall be destroyed. The dominance of Edom/Esau over the House of Jacob/Israel was predicted to happen in the Last Days, primarily because of Israel’s sins, which have seen all economic power leach from the Isael nations to the anti-Christian powers of the world, resulting in the slavery of those loyal to Jesus Christ. Thus, we have reached the kill or cure time period, where only drastic action from the heavenly kingdom can restore all those things which need to be reinstated. Every human agency acting alone is destined to fail in the attempt.
It is possible to envisage the immediate period in front of us as being on a level pathway which in a short space of time divides into two, one part leading upward and the other plunging downward. There is no facility for remaining on the level. It is either ascension or into the pit reserved from the beginning of time. Pray therefore, that you may be worthy of escape (not rapture), to the glorious eternal kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose kingdom He has declared is NOT of this world.
But the destruction of the false kingdom of Satan is assured, as stated in the second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians, chapter 2, verses 8-12 :- “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them STRONG DELUSION that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believe not the truth but had PLEASURE in unrighteousness.”
Today, we exist in a miasma of almost total delusion, and our most urgent task is NOT to believe what the world says. And the way of discerning what is really true is to banish from our souls all the temptations and conceits of this fallen world.
