God Shall Send Them Strong Delusion
Written by Dean Maxwell
It seems that God sent delusion for many people to continue not being saved.
Thes 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Jesus also spoke in parables so that many might not understand, repent and be saved (Mathew 13:10-17). Still it is our duty to plant seeds (2 Corinthians 9:6) to try to break people out of this matrix/belief system/hive mind/carnal mind (Romans 8:7-8).
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
2Cor4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Thus satan (the god of this world) is also trying to keep the unsaved unsaved. Some of those can be broken free of this unsaved state through God.
Jesus said “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44). Jesus commissioned us to spread the word with the assistance of the Spirit to draw people to God (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:17) as an end time revival.
John 10:”27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Or once saved, always saved.
We are ambassadors for Christ to reconcile people to God (2Cor5:20).
As truth is revealed in these latter days (Luke 8:17) more will break away from this “one mind” as they are drawn by the Father via the Holy Spirit. A Herculean task, but everything is possible with God. (Math 19:23-26). God is working through us to make this happen (John 15:5). God instructed us to preach the Word to all creation (Mark 16:15).
We should try to bring people to God (by planting seeds) to at least give people the opportunity to choose for Christ.
So yes we should try to bring people to God. Christians also salt one another (Math 5:13) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?) (Mark 9:49-50) (Luke 14:34) to help each other with this task.
Having said that, there is the complicated issue of the free will of His creation. Calvanists argue that holding to free will of man would negate the absolute sovereignty of God. The Arminian school of thought points out that if God decides who is or isn’t saved then free will is an illusion. There is a 3rd school of thought called Molinism which believes that through God’s middle knowledge (of what a free person would do in any given circumstance; born as a prince or a pauper for instance) that allows for God to be completely in control while man also has complete free will. God of course knows (via middle knowledge) how every person will turn out, but that does not negate each person’s ability to make their own choices.
So yes again, we should try to bring people to God (by planting seeds) to at least give people the opportunity to choose for Christ. God knows how it will turn out. For we are instructed to preach the Gospel of the kingdom to all the world and then the end will come (Math 24:14). Come quickly Lord Jesus, Amen.
