Pastor Jory Brooks is an American and pastor of the oldest Anglo-Israel church in North America, located in Detroit, Michigan. He is also Vice-President of the “The Servant People, Canadian British Israel Association” and together with President Mary Bennett, has been a driving force in that organization. With his keen interest in history and research, he has updated and written many fine publications for CBIA. When you read a Jory Brooks article, you know you are in touch with one of the foremost scholars of the Israel Truth. He is a speed reader so gets the most out of the hours per day he spends in research. His articles in our magazine are invariably fresh and informative and he also writes a quarterly article for a British publication. It is a tribute to his wisdom that his articles are very often picked up and reprinted in other Israel Truth magazines. Jory is also a sought after speaker and has delivered messages throughout the United States, Canada and the British Isles.
The parables of Christ dealing with subjects such as the two coins and the two sons (Luke 15 and 16) is spiritualized and watered down into nothing more than a sweet moral “Aesop’s fable” type story with no literal application to the two houses of Israel, which is the actual focus.
The Shaker communities all died out because they did not allow marriages or births, and only one out of ten children who were brought in by their parents remained in the Shaker religion. Yet some of the other religious denominational oddities of the period are still with us today, shaking the foundations of Christian belief with their disparate and extra-biblical teachings.

It is almost beyond belief that concepts of pure paganism pose as Christian in our churches today. Believers need to be warned that not all that is religious is right in the eyes of God.
So, this most important prophecy, the high-water mark of prophetic understanding, could be either literal or spiritual, fulfilled in Jeremiah’s time, or Christ’s sacrifice, or else awaiting the coming millennium. Utter confusion reigns among leading New Testament scholars!
It is troubling that mainstream Christianity today seems to have lost its sense of mission and evangelism. The attitude of many modern evangelicals and fundamentalists is that evangelization—or proselytism, as now disparagingly labeled—is wrong. “We must accept each other as we are. We must candidly remain as we are.”
In Daniel 12:7, a section of Scripture titled, “The Time of the End” in our King James Bibles, we read, “it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”
Was Balaam an historical figure? The Biblical Background Commentary reports, “In 1967 a Dutch archaeological expedition led by H. J. Franken discovered some inscribed pieces of plaster at a site in Jordan known as Deir ‘Allah. The fragments are apparently written in Aramaic and date to about 850 B.C. They mention Balaam son of Beor, the same figure described as a “seer” in Numbers 22-24.
Colin Renfrew, late professor of archaeology at the University of Southampton, England, revealed over forty years ago these significant early trade relations. He wrote of “the evidence afforded by the finds of certain small imported objects which serve as a direct link between prehistoric Britain and the Mediterranean world.
Those who say the promises to Israel are to a “spiritual” and not a literal Israel. God’s oath to Abraham made his seed a nation, and Jesus confirmed this when He said to the literal people of Judah, “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation,” etc. (Matt. 21:43)
