A Warning
“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound the alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.”(Joel 2:1).
When I first heard of the large number of bird deaths in the news lately, my first thought was of the canary that was sent into the mines with the miners in Britain. According to Wikipedia “canaries were once used in coal mining as an early warning system. Toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and methane in the mine would kill the bird before affecting the miners”. This practice was phased out in 1987. Could these mass bird deaths and also mass fish deaths be an early warning signal to us? What is going on? There have been many explanations but so many of them just don’t ring true. These birds died suddenly. There was no disease in them, no marks on their bodies, but their internal organs were badly damaged. It is a mystery but it is something we should take as a warning. It may not be happening to us now but whatever is affecting them could affect us in the future and we must be aware of that.
There has been a shift in the magnetic north pole and it has affected Tampa International Airport. As reported in the Tampa Tribune, January 6, 2011, “TAMPA – Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached — of all places — Tampa International Airport. The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth’s magnetic north pole.” Does this mean something? Changes are happening to our earth and they cannot help but affect us.

We are still suffering the effects of the BP oil spill. As reported on CNN U.S. on January 8, 2011, “(CNN) — More than eight months after an oil rig explosion launched the biggest oil disaster in U.S. history, Louisiana officials say they’re still finding thick layers of oil along parts of the state’s coastline. “Every day, this shoreline is moving inland,” lessening flood protection for residents, Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said. On Friday, Robert Barham, secretary of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, joined Nungesser on a tour of a portion of Louisiana’s coastline still heavily oiled by the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and according to a statement from the wildlife and fisheries department. “It has been eight months since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion, and five months since the well was capped. While workers along the coast dedicated themselves to cleaning up our shores there is still so much to be done,” Barham said in the statement. During a walking tour of an area called Bay Jimmy, Nungesser said oil can be seen from a distance.” Some of the toxins from this oil are obviously still affecting wildlife and with the Gulf current who knows how many are affected.
There is also talk of the New Madrid Fault Zone in the United States coming to life again. All the bird kills were around the area of the New Madrid Fault Zone. Does this mean something? I remember reading something back when the oil spill was happening about how scientists were worried that all the oil being released could upset the deeply buried tectonic plates in the Gulf of Mexico and they could be directly connected to the New Madrid Fault. Something could be happening that the birds are very sensitive to and we haven’t yet experienced. Apparently birds are very sensitive to electromagnetic forces. Is there something happening with the New Madrid Fault? There were 4 major earthquakes in that area between 1811 and 1812 with magnitudes as high as 8.0. Wikipedia states: “The New Madrid Seismic Zone (pronounced /nju? ‘mædr?d/), sometimes called the New Madrid Fault Line, is a major seismic zone and a prolific source of intraplate earthquakes (earthquakes within a tectonic plate) in the southern and midwestern United States, stretching to the southwest from New Madrid, Missouri. The New Madrid fault system was responsible for the 1811–1812 New Madrid earthquakes and may have the potential to produce large earthquakes in the future. Since 1812 frequent smaller earthquakes were recorded in the area. Earthquakes that occur there potentially threaten parts of seven U.S. states: Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.” This fault is much larger than the San Andreas fault and if a large earthquake were to happen the loss of life and the economic outcome would be disastrous.
These are just a few things that I have found and thought about since the bird deaths have occurred. It is definitely time for us to put our priorities in order. We must come to the Lord with prayer and fasting realizing that He is our only protection in these times of great turmoil in the earth. We can be at peace knowing He is our Saviour. We must look beyond this present world to the wonderful world that is coming.
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” (2Peter 3:10-14).
