Did Jesus Not Say Anything About It?
There are those who are trying to say that Christians down the centuries have got it wrong about Homosexuality, etc. and that Jesus didn’t say anything about that kind of sexual behaviour. But the truth is He did. He upheld the LAW and that Law comes from God and Jesus IS GOD THE SON [or The Logos/Word]. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1. So that means, since the triune God is One God, He did say these things are wrong.
The ceremonial ordinances of sacrifices and circumcision etc. were completed in Christ’s once for all sacrifice, death and resurrection, after which the “school master” of Galatians 3 is no longer necessary. But the Commandments, Statues and Judgements part of the LAW have never been done away with.
God’s LAW Word says: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Leviticus. 18:22.
Jesus Himself said:
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy [the Law], but to fulfil. [That is the requirements of the ceremonial and sacrificial laws and all prophecy] Matthew 5:17.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, [the Commandments, Statutes and Judgments] till all [prophecy] be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18.
All prophecy is not yet fulfilled; we still have the Second Advent with The Judgment to come. How is the Lord going to Judge us? Why, according to His LAW Word of course.
Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment [Matthew 22:36] and His reply was to quote the first and last of the 10 Commandments, summing up all the others in those two. Just because He did not list all the others in between does not mean we can leave them out, or that they do not matter. On another occasion He did list the other commandments. The rest of God’s Law Word, the Statutes and Judgments are just as important and have not been rescinded.
If we were to love God with all our heart, soul, and might, we would naturally obey all the other commandments. Because if we loved God that much, we would want to please Him and do right by Him.
But since we don’t love God as we should, and therefore do not obey His laws, this does not make God’s LAW Word obsolete, but us to be sinners. And John tells us: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1John 3:4. And St. Paul says: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23.
Jesus accused even the Pharisees, who appeared to be meticulous at keeping the law, of breaking God’s LAW Word by plotting to murder Him.
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? John 7:19. [This refers to the 6th Commandment.]
I say to those who are trying to destroy our faith in Jesus and God’s Law Word, you will indeed as the Pharisee Gamaliel, said “found to be fighting against God.” [Acts 5:39].
My dear fellow bible believing Christians, don’t be made to doubt, we have NOT got it wrong. This is all part of the plan to destroy our faith, but we must hold fast to every word and as St. Jude says: … ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3.
In these end days, the fight is hotting up, Satan is making his last desperate effort to prevent God’s kingdom coming on the Earth and the world is doing his bidding by attacking all that is of the one true Faith, in the one true and living God.
But Jesus says: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
Finally, our Lord says:
… that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power [authority] over the nations: Revelation 2:25, 26.
