Come Lord Jesus And Reign Over Us
I have to say, I just cannot wait for the Lord Jesus to return, assuming I’m still here when He does that is! What with this world’s obsession with wiping out normal everyday bacteria, the good along with the bad, potions, injections and pills for this, that and everything else. Plus we are constantly being told how food is over processed and that’s not good for us, but they continue to sell it! Recently I saw that even our “fresh” fruit and vegetables are polluted. So, we shouldn’t eat them, just live on air, oh we can’t do that because it also is polluted!
Adverts persistently going on about cheap cremations and how lovely it is going to be for those left behind as they will have money to ‘celebrate’ you [or not as the case may be] but at least they won’t have to pay for your funeral! There are adverts terrifying us about new and resurgent diseases – get a jab for it! Go back to wearing masks, stay at home! Oh, that’s alright; many are already working from home anyway and a lot of our young people, they say, aren’t even bothering to look for work at all! They can earn a lot more money by becoming an ‘influencer’ on social media, and they don’t have to leave home for that.
Then there is ‘assisted suicide’ which we all know will become more about your perceived usefulness to society, so, when you are no longer useful, you will be encouraged to end it all – having paid for your funeral of course, so that you are no longer a burden on those around you who supposedly love you.
All this and more, of course is without God in the reckoning. These are some of the reasons why I believe the Lord’s return cannot be far off. We are actually destroying ourselves while those that produce these things are only concerned with making money and seeing just how far human beings can go with their inventions. They do not care about the damage they might be lining up for the future; we are already seeing AI starting to do its own thing without human help.
Before the FLOOD Holy Scripture tells us: … GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5. So, God pronounced the destruction of that world via the flood. The world now I suggest is even worse than it was before the Flood.
Today it is all about ‘love’; any kind of love will do it seems, or what passes for love these days except the true and pure love of God. Self-love is the biggest thing today; man’s whole emphasis at the moment is on loving one’s self, that is – I must look better than everybody else – hence loads of plastic surgery, I must not be upset – so don’t tell me I’m wrong in anything. All things must be for my pleasure and comfort – so I must have whatever I want and do whatever I want to do. We are actually being told these days that we must love ourselves no matter what.
In God’s eyes we are all sinners! For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23. As Isaiah says, … we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags… [Isaiah 64:6]. What’s to love about that? Yet God does love us, but His love is very different from man’s general idea of love. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son… John 3:16. That is, God became flesh in order to redeem His Israel people and be the salvation of all who would accept Him and believe in Him. This is the difference between God’s ‘Sacrificial Love’ and our ‘selfish love’.
To those of us who have already repented and belong to the Lord, I say hold fast! We are in for a bumpy ride. But to those who have not yet turned to the Lord Jesus, time is running out!
Right now things do not look good for the future of mankind; we are fearful of just about everything, disease, wars, famines, earthquakes, weather conditions. Everything is turning against us and people are afraid because there seems to be no solution. … upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity [that is confusion, chaos with no way out]; … Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Luke 21:25, 26.
All these things were prophesied by our Lord Jesus Christ, and all are now in progress like never before. He has given these signs for His true believers who are watching so that they may know when that time is near and not be afraid. So, the time is short it seems! And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. [or, near] Matthew 4:17.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely, I come quickly [or, suddenly]. Revelation 22:20.
He will not be too soon or too late, but at the appointed time, which has already been decided by God, the day and hour of which only He knows. But He has given signs for those who are watching, to know when that time is not so far off. Those signs are showing now!
So, I say, Come, Lord Jesus, and reign over us. Amen.
