A Strong Delusion
2Thessalonians 2:11-12
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
Are our Israel nations under a strong delusion today? It sure feels that way. It seems that most people today believe in no higher power at all and therefore they are basically secular which is defined as, not connected with religious or spiritual matters or not having any connection to religion. This is contrasted with sacred. I would say our Israel nations are pretty much all like that today. We have lost our faith in Almighty God and live lives in things worldly rather than Godly. We then wonder why we are in such deep trouble! Years ago I wrote an article called The Lost Generation and today I think we have more than one lost generation. So many young people today are lost and have very little structure in their lives to guide them. They tend to get most of their information on how to live their lives on social media. This opens them up to the whole world and I believe is causing them more confusion than we have ever seen. I feel sorry for these young people. Many of them are now searching for something to believe in and have been going back to church. Hopefully they can find a good one. I was at an event this last week and a young man that was sitting at our table afterwards said he thought that a lot of young people are now starting to drop a number of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. They are worried about security and also they are getting tired of it and feel it is not helping them. I hope this is true.
The influence of the world is very strong and if we are not strong in our faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ we are open to accept all the fodder and garbage that is out there. This strong delusion takes over and we are lost and tend to accept all that the evil ones want us to believe and we end up accepting all that they say. We even start to accept many things that don’t make any sense. We are losing the ability to critically think. We are then like sheep being led to the slaughter. Our world today is out of control and it is hard to believe we have fallen so far down but it has been gradual over many years and we are now approaching the end. It is like the snowball that gets larger and larger when it rolls down a hill or the increase in birth pangs before the birth of a baby. Things will continue to get worse until we repent and call out to God for help and He will instantly help us. We cannot go on or we will destroy God’s earth and His people. Many good people are starting to see that the world is in crisis. Hopefully they will soon call out to God to save us and heal our lands. The others just go along assuming that everything will be ok eventually. They think that all will be the same as it always has been. Unfortunately for them they are in for a big shock. 2Thessalonians 2:12-17 says, “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.”
We are receiving so many lies today and we must continue to speak and hear truth and help others to understand that Satan knows his time is short and will work in any way he can to deceive God’s people and their lands. Luckily we have these words from Psalm 2 to remind us that our God is in control and He will save His people. I just love these verses from Psalm 2, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.”
Our Father in Heaven loves us and will take care of us if we walk with Jesus Christ daily.
