Why Is There A Plot Against The Throne?
The following is taken from an older article from the Woodfield Bible Study Group that I think seems even more relevant today than when it was originally presented.
It describes that, in the second Psalm, there is a very intriguing question. It has probably been asked many times through the centuries, but at no time is it more applicable than in these last two decades in my opinion. It is asked of people who are termed ‘heathen’. The question is “Why do the heathen rage?…..” The word ‘rage’ is further explained in the Bible margin as ‘tumultuously assemble’. For centuries the heathen were asleep as far as taking any part in world decisions is concerned. Only in the last seventy or so years have the heathen been awakened and caused tumults, confusion, noise, riots and lawlessness in the world. The Psalmist asks “Why do they do it?” He further asks “Why do the people imagine a vain thing?”
This is a situation where Godless people create confusion and riots in the world and plot, but they plot in vain. The word ‘vain’ in this context means futile, ineffective, without avail. Verse 2 speaks of those who are called ‘the kings of the earth’ and ‘the rulers’. They have gathered together in counsel, secret or otherwise, for a specified purpose which, for a time, may seem to be successful, but which will be frustrated, for they are plotting AGAINST THE LORD and against His anointed saying, “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”
The general consensus is that the word “anointed” refers to our Lord Jesus Christ. However, another interpretation comes to mind for British Israel believers. Could this anointed one be the occupant of the throne of the Lord at the present time ie., King Charles III? In his book “Elizabeth Our Queen”, Reginald Davis wrote on page 26, of the anointing of the Queen, that “it is the most mystical and sacred part of the Coronation Service, and represented Divine confirmation of the people’s choice. It is this anointing that gives the Sovereign claim to the Royal Title. The book quotes Queen Elizabeth I as saying to her parliament “I am your anointed Queen”.
King Charles’ ancestry can be traced without a break to David, King of Israel, whom the prophet Samuel anointed in Bethlehem in about 1063 B.C. Later, in 1042 B.C., God made a promise to David (2 Sam. 7:16) in which God told David that his House (the House of David taken from the Tribe of Judah) and his kingdom, would endure forever. With great thankfulness David believed God saying (26) …”let the House of Thy servant David be established before Thee to bless the House of Thy servant, that it may continue forever before Thee: for Thou O Lord God hast spoken it: and with Thy blessing let the House of Thy servant be blessed forever.
I Samuel 15:29 assures us: “The strength of Israel will not lie nor repent …”. The presence of one who is of the line of David, upon the throne of the British Commonwealth of Nations today, is proof positive that God Has kept His Word to David.
God made a solemn vow to David, in which he said: (Jeremiah 33:17) “David shall never want a man to sit upon the Throne of the House of Israel.” Furthermore, in verses 20 and 21, God said that as long as day followed night, this covenant or promise would never be broken but that there would always be an occupant on the Throne of the Lord. This is an earthly throne as 1 Chronicles 29:23 reveals: “Then Solomon sat on the Throne of the Lord as King instead of David his father…” 2 Chronicles 9:8 gives the Queen of Sheba’s words to Solomon. “Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighteth in thee to set thee on His Throne, to be king for the Lord thy God.” Again, this is an earthly throne.
However, present theological teaching is that Jesus is reigning on that throne and that the statement is qualified by the pronouncement that Christ reigns in our hearts. In other words, they spiritualize it away: but what does the Bible say? In the New Testament (Luke 1:32-33), the angel Gabriel told Mary “He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto Him the Throne of His Father David, and He shall reign over the House of Jacob (Israel) forever, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.” This statement is in conflict with theological opinion, as it indicates that Christ will reign from an earthly throne at His second coming.
At His first coming, Jesus demonstrated a completely new way of life. He did not reign from any throne and He refused at that time to let His people make Him a king when they wanted to do so. (John 6:15) “When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him a king, he departed…..” Jesus knew that an earthly king occupied the throne at that time according to the promise and that He would assume the Throne in due time.
In a world that is being torn apart today, and where attacks are being made against the throne of Britain, the question “What will be the outcome?” is being seriously considered. One truth shines like a jewel in the darkness that is spreading over the earth. The throne of Britain, which is the throne of the Lord in the midst of God’s promised Nation and Company of Nations (Genesis 35:11) will stand secure. This also applies to the United States of America – the leading Israel nation in these end times.
In Ezekiel 38:6, where a list of those who will be against the modern Celto-Saxon-Israel nations and all his bands is given, Gomer and all his bands; the house of Togarmah and all his bands, are named. In this context the word ‘bands’ means tribes, clans, nations, those in league with each other. If this meaning is used then what is being said by those in high places both in the Israel nations and throughout the world is literally this: “The cord that binds the clans of the family nations of the British Commonwealth together is the Throne. Let us fragment the Commonwealth, isolate the nations and cut the cords that bind each nation within it to the Throne.” This is the aim of the so-called deep state.
Psalm 2:4 gives the final outcome. Of those who are “plotting fruitlessly and to no avail” this statement is made. “He (God) that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. (5) Then shall he speak to them in his wrath and vex them in His sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.”
Our ‘rulers’ of today who are in sympathy with the so-called deep state who are plotting against Israel Britain and the U.S.A., are beginning to be known. Ezekiel 38 identifies these people. Gog is the ancient name of those descended from Amalek. Exodus 17:16, together with a marginal alternative translation states: “Because the hand of Amalek is against the Throne of the Lord, therefore the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Is it any wonder that the Psalmist asked “Why do the nations rage, and why do the people plot to no avail?” They cannot win for God has decreed their destruction. Of Amalek it was prophesied in Numbers 24:20, “Amalek was the first of the nations (that warred against Israel) but his latter end shall be that he perish forever.”
It is important to note that the battle is not to be ours, but God’s. Those who plot against the throne will incur God’s wrath and the Psalmist prophetically advises them in Psalm 2: 10-12 (New International Version): “Therefore you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth, Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment….”
As I write this article, ”No Kings” protests are occurring in many nations. One U.S. podcaster was making fun of these protesters and stated that they’re making us almost want a king here in the U.S. Clearly, democracy was not working he said and has broken people’s brains – they cannot handle having a vote – we need something else. He asked “where can we get a king from? If only we had a king invested in the betterment of the country!” He said this sarcastically of course but he unwittingly stated the ultimate and glorious truth! With Christ as King ruling over the whole earth, he will get his wish. Amen
