The Storm Before The Calm
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39)
We are living in an age of great distress among nations, and the seas, the waves and winds are roaring all around us. The world leaders keep saying peace and safety is coming but there is no peace and safety. It just keeps getting worse and worse. We are in a storm that we cannot subdue and only Jesus Christ our Saviour can calm these storms around us. I was going to call this article, “The calm before the storm”, but I then realized that we are not in a time of calm but in a time of deep calamity and uncertainty where the world appears to be on the brink of war. We are in a monstrous storm and there appears to be no way of stopping it. This appears to be a time where we need to be calling out to Jesus Christ to rescue us and calm these evil storms that are being manufactured by those who want to destroy us and gain power for themselves. These are things that God absolutely hates and especially the atrocities of murdering innocent children and they seem to be the most affected by these evil ones. We know what the Lord has to say about them, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matt. 18:6).
We are in a time of destruction. It almost appears that everything that is good is being destroyed and replaced with something fake and phony. We don’t even know how the new AI plans will affect us but it appears that many things could deceive us so we must be careful. There are many things physically happening on the earth and in the sky so we must keep watch and be prepared for all types of events to happen after all we are in this time of the storm before Jesus brings the calm by defeating our enemies. It could be leading to what it says in Isa. 26:20 “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.” We will at some point need to separate ourselves more and more from the world things and prepare to withdraw to our chambers as we feel the Lord is about to act. We do not exactly know how God will do this but we know we are His children and He will protect us so we must listen to His still small voice that we hear when we are quiet and spending time with Him. This is something it appears we should be doing more and more as the world unravels and we cry out to Him for help.
In his 1965 song called Eve of Destruction Barry McGuire sings “Don’t you understand what I’m trying to say? Can’t you feel the fear that I’m feeling today? If the button is pushed, there’s no running away. There’ll be no one to save with the world in a grave. Take a look around you boy, it’s bound to scare you, boy. But you tell me over and over and over again, my friend. Ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.” You can find this song on YouTube. Barry McGuire became a Christian in 1971 and wrote many Christian songs. I found these words of his and thought I would include them here as I think they show His love for God and how we can walk with him. “Then I thought about my years in Christ and what God had done in my life and the transformation that has taken place within me. I realized what Peter said which in essence was ‘Where would I go? You’re the only One. There’s no life outside of Christ.’ “And I thought, I know that to be true through my own experience, so I began to think about when Jesus first started His ministry and He said, ‘Follow Me.’ And when He finished, He said, ‘Abide in Me.’ And that was my moment that I knew that if I was going to follow Him, I had also to abide in Him. And to ‘abide’ in Him means to live in Him and for Him to live in me.
“So, on that night in Ireland I said, ‘OK God, I’ll never ask You for anything again. Do with me as You will.’ And, so from that night that is when I totally surrendered my life to Christ and it was no longer my will, but Thy will be done.”
We all have our own journey with Christ but in the end we are all joined together with the Holy Spirit and rejoice with each other over our faith and love for Him and for each other. This life of living in Jesus Christ is unknown to the world people but once you find Him your life is changed forever and I hope many people today will find Him before it is too late. The time appears to be short we must prepare to meet our Lord.“ And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28)
