Repeat of History

It was the year 1934. North America was in the Great Depression. My grandfather and grandmother took their daughter (my mother) to a British Israel lecture by Reverend Springett, who was making his way across Canada and speaking on the subject of the lost tribes of Israel, identified as the Anglo-Saxon people. There were hundreds of people in attendance with clergy from different denominations. There was much talk about what was happening in Europe and my grandfather believed war was coming. He went beyond that prediction and said he believed Hitler was the Antichrist. The tension was building amongst Christians.

Here we are eighty-eight years later. We call our movement Israel Truth because it encompasses more than just the British people. Fewer people are interested in our message since the Zionists established their state of Israel in the Middle East. The evangelical churches support the Zionist vision and preach it. They believe Israel is being re-gathered in that little Middle East country. The problem with their thinking is that the Bible says the re-gathering of Israel will be to the Messiah (Jesus Christ), which does not fit the little country in the Middle East. “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Genesis 49:10. They cannot leave Jesus Christ out of the picture and think they are accomplishing anything.

I believe we shall see a repeat of history with that little country in the Middle East. When they rejected Jesus Christ at about 30 A.D., they had a period of about 40 years while they continued to sacrifice animals even though the true sacrifice of the Son of God had been made on the cross. In 70 A.D. the superpower of Rome came and destroyed Jerusalem and their temple. Today another superpower, Russia, is creating turmoil in Europe. Russia is also active in the Middle East and is allied with Iran and Syria. I believe Russia will one day invade the little state of Israel and overwhelm it just as Rome did in 70 A.D. “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” Zechariah 14:2. After that the Lord will destroy the forces of Russia and its allies. Following that will be the re-gathering of Israel. “For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God. For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.” Jeremiah 31:6-9. Israel will be gathered to the New Jerusalem under the kingship of Jesus Christ. The prophecy is about the lost tribes, (mostly the Anglo-Saxon people).

Just as Europe was facing war in the 1930s, so many of us see the next war approaching. Canada will probably be dragged into it. I wrote in 2014 that Canada could be caught in the middle of a war between America and Russia as Russia sweeps over the land. In 2012 I estimated that the Third World War would end in 2026, based on calculations I did from the book of Daniel. I also believe it will be a swift war only lasting about a year. That would mean it could start in 2025. Some Israel Truth believers think it is coming much sooner than that. We are not making prophecies, only trying to analyse the times and make sense of what is happening in the world. However, it certainly looks like history is repeating itself, and that the Third World War is approaching.
