Personal Judgements
It is very tempting to pass judgement on people, but the Lord tells us not to do that. (Matthew 7:1). Nations are made up of people, so when we pass judgement on the nation, we are judging people. I believe we should not do that either. Judgement belongs to the Lord, so let’s stop judging.
I spoke to a young man in my church recently about who goes to hell. He had some ideas about that. I said I would not pass judgement on anyone and I pointed him to what Paul said about it. “But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:6-9. At funerals people always say the person has gone to heaven and when people read about some horrific sin someone has committed, they frequently assign the wicked person to a burning hell. The truth is we do not have anything to do with judging the person. It is entirely up to God. God does not allow Christian lynch mobs in his Kingdom.
The prophets were a different story. They passed judgement on the nation, but it did not come out of their heads. It came from the Lord, and He told them what to say. In the Anglo Israel movement, we try to figure out what the future of the nation is, but we are just trying to interpret prophecy. We make mistakes and get some things wrong and other things right. Please do not think when you read our articles that our statements are set in stone like the Ten Commandments. Only the Bible is one hundred percent correct.
I was talking to a Christian woman about Charlie Kirk, and she was concerned that a man in Charlie Kirk’s team had brought a convicted pedophile into a church to meet people and take part in church activities. The former pedophile had been in prison for his crimes and had finished his time of incarceration. When people in the church found out he was a convicted pedophile they were horrified. The woman I spoke to decided that the man should not be allowed to be near children in a church for the rest of his life. The problem is: children are everywhere in a church. What is the answer? God may forgive the man for his sins, but mothers in the church may not. I do not blame the mothers. Think of how many men have repented, but not really repented, and then have gone back to their old sins.
In the Anglo Israel movement some writers have promoted the death penalty for murder. Many people in our society go along with that idea. However, there were other sins in the Old Testament which required the death penalty. Worshiping other gods was one terrible sin that required the death penalty. Also, sexual sins are mentioned. Sexual intercourse with a maiden required that the man marry the maiden. (at the end of a shotgun?) Sexual intercourse with someone the man could not marry was punishable by death. That included adultery, homosexual intercourse, and intercourse with beasts. The sexual act could not be made right by marriage. Therefor pedophilia would go into that category. The Old Testament law would require the death penalty for sexual acts of pedophilia.
Should the Anglo Israel movement promote the death penalty for all the sins which required it in the Old Testament? Jesus did not say we should teach the judgements of the Old Testament; only the commandments (Matthew 5:19). I will not promote the death penalty because our society is too far gone. People get dragged into sin because our society is corrupt to the core. The core is our leaders. Even they are often corrupt.
The Bible teaches us what happens when moral sin takes over a nation. Jeremiah spoke of the sins of the nation of Judah. “How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses. They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?” Jeremiah 5:7-9. The nation of Judah fell to the Babylonians. The sins in our Israel nations are worse than those mentioned by Jeremiah. Judgement is coming!
I was asked by another Anglo Israel believer what I think should be done to reform the nation. As I said, our nations are so far gone morally that the reform would have to be in stages. First would be bringing back Sunday closure of businesses. Saturday is the biggest shopping day in the nation. Sunday is the second. This would have to stop. Next would be bringing the daily Lord’s prayer into all government offices and schools and reading of the Ten Commandments once a month. That is my idea of stage one of national reform. The truth is that ANY reforms brought in would be met with savage vitriol. Our society is too far gone. Only the Lord can reform us. Only He can bring in righteous judgements.
Anglo Israel believers are many times tempted to judge other Christians because we believe we have the answers to reforming our society. However, we are told not to judge. God has given authority to whoever He decides. We are not in control. Even Satan has the control God has allowed him to have. As the book of Job shows, it is all for God’s purpose. Job did not understand it and sometimes we do not understand it. People are being tested. As the book of Job shows; it will work out right in the end and God will get the glory. We must wait for the Kingdom of God and point others to the commandments and the faith of Jesus Christ. However, judgement is coming!
It is all in the Lord’s hands. We cannot do much to change our society. We can do our little bit in whatever way the Lord has called each of us. We need to be prayer warriors. The key to a happy Christian life is to do SOMETHING for the Kingdom, no matter how small. We need to do our assigned tasks in preparing to meet the Lord. He will put us in the right place in his Kingdom. May the Lord bless each of you in your Christian endeavours.
