False Peace
Recently at the World Economic Forum U.S. President Donald Trump signed the charter for the new Board of Peace. He plans to bring peace to Gaza by disarming Hamas and then rebuilding the bombed out ruins. Palestinians accused of being part of Hamas could be given free passage to leave the territory. This model could then work for other areas of conflict in the world and maybe Donald Trump could be heralded as the Prince of Peace (oops – President of Peace). There is one problem with this peace plan. It leaves out Jesus Christ. It is a false declaration of peace.
This idea of a false declaration of peace is nothing new. It is discussed in the Bible. I wrote about it in an article in 2013. This is what I wrote:
“There will be a false declaration of peace before the return of Jesus Christ. It will be a man-made peace. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” I Thessalonians 5: 2-3. I believe this will be when there is a final agreement between the Jews and the Palestinians. When it happens, be prepared for war like we have never seen before in the Middle East.” – Thy Kingdom Come Magazine June 2013.
Of course I got it wrong. There is no agreement between the Jews and the Palestinians. Donald Trump wants to force peace on the Palestinian people whether they like it or not. I thought Jesus Christ would be the one to force peace on people (Micah 4:3). However, I understand that the Lord will force strong nations to accept peace. The problem is with the strong nations. (like the U.S.A.?) Only the Lord can deal with those strong nations.
It appears we are going to have a Middle East war. Fans of Donald Trump are predicting a glorious peace for the Middle East with unity and cooperation from all the Arab states after they bomb Iran into submission. They say they do not want to hurt the people of Iran – only the leadership of Iran. We will see how that plays out. I don’t see how it is possible with a bombing campaign to only kill the leaders and leave the people unharmed. Maybe Afghanistan is an example of what they want to do. (oops – the Taliban are back in power there.)
I believe this will be the final war before the Lord returns. It will bring about the end of the American Empire. I am not saying the U.S.A. will lose the war. Quite the opposite. They will win the final conflict, but just as the Second World War brought about the end of the British Empire, so the coming war will bring about the end of the American Empire. This is the progression of empires I have discussed in past articles. When an empire comes to an end there is a power vacuum. This power vacuum will be filled by the Empire of Jesus Christ.
The British Empire was a Protestant Empire. Despite the cursing of that empire by modern day Christians and others, they have to admit that the British Empire spread the Gospel throughout the world. The same result happened with the American Empire, finalising the spreading of the Gospel to the world. The American Empire is not Protestant. They call themselves Judeo-Christian. Their joining with Judaism is something the Protestant reformers of the sixteenth century would never have approved of.
It is time for another empire to take over. It will bring about the peace this battered world has been hoping for. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” John 14:27-28. God the Father wants peace for this world, but He wants it ruled by his Son. It is not a false peace cooked up at the World Economic Forum. The Kingdom of the Son of God will bring the only peace that will last. In this time of turmoil, his message to us is, “Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.”
