Babylon is Falling
As part of the Babylonian system, democracy is falling apart, and many are turning away from democracy.
In the UK, Gen. Z [born 1997- 2012.] According to a poll taken, a 1/3 of those polled would prefer a strong dictator in charge instead of our democratically elected parliament. They have no idea what they would be letting themselves in for. Admittedly, the way our government is behaving these days one could not blame them, but, as the saying goes: “be careful what you wish for”.
Before the Flood: “GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5. His judgement was the total destruction bar eight persons of that generation by water. Sadly Adamic man did not heed the message and failed again and is still failing, and although God promised not to flood the earth again, the next time the punishment would be by fire!
“Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:6,7.
Democracy doesn’t work, but then neither does any manmade dictatorship! Mankind cannot be trusted with such power as has been proven in the past time and time again. There is only ONE who can have total power and rule with total justice and mercy and equity. There is only ONE who can save us out of the mess we all have helped to make, the Lord Jesus Christ, He will put things right; He will destroy the wicked and all their doings, REPENTANCE is the order of the day and BELIEVING ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST: “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Acts 2:21.
Initially, our Israelite ancestors weren’t satisfied with having an invisible Almighty God as their King and Protector; they wanted to be like the other nations. Nothing much has changed here today. So God gave them Saul, and he let them down big time and God replaced him. The only time ultimate authority was with one man, and it worked was when king David, followed by his son Solomon, were obeying God’s Laws, but they were not perfect by any means. Good as they tried to be, David committed adultery and had the husband placed in danger in a battle, so that he was killed and Solomon married foreign wives who eventually led him astray worshipping idols etc. But they were the nearest we got as a people to having a fit leader under God.
The news item also reckoned that Gen Z are more spiritual than other age groups, many seeking out churches and buying bibles. If true, then it is wonderful, and could this be the revival we who already believe are looking and praying for? But from what the report says it is not so much the Hebrew/Christian faith they are turning to, but any of the heathen religions, cults and superstitions that are gathering adherents these days.
One thing it does show is that all people are confused and fearful, looking for a solution to the chaos and unrest that has taken hold of the whole world in these end of days.
All according to our Lord’s prophetic utterances: “… ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6. “… many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:11,12. “… great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Luke 21:11. “… ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” Luke 21:16, 17. “… there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity [meaning, seeing no way out]; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:25,26.
I say then, courage brothers and sisters in Christ, fear not hold fast to the Faith once delivered to the saints: And as Luke continues: “… then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:27.
So that “… when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21: 28.
“…Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. …” Malachi 3:7.
“Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance[judgment], even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.“ Isaiah 35:4.
As the dark clouds gather around us, let us keep our hearts and minds focused on our Lord Jesus Christ and whether His return is sooner or later, it will be at the right time, and He will give us the strength and courage to face and overcome whatever this world throws at us.
Babylon is crumbling and passing away. GOD’S KINGDOM IS COMING and is even at the doors! [Matthew 24:33].
