A Time Of Change And Confusion
“O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;” (Dan. 9:7-9)
The end of the above verse says, “though we have rebelled against him”, so is this not today? We are in a state of rebellion, not only against God but also against all things that are good and righteous. Rebellion, corruption and violence are everywhere. We are living in a changing world where respect for the values we once had are gone and we are in a state of confusion as our way of life is changing daily. Unfortunately, in our Israel nations we are like sheep and tend to follow the crowd and accept what is popular at the moment. The result of this living in the world, rather than in God’s world of righteous following His laws, means things continue to get worse and worse and people wonder why. It will never get better unless we turn back to God. Most of the leaders in our Israel nations are corrupt and those good ones who try to change things and put things right are eventually gone as they can never get past all the corruption in our lands. What a disaster, and consequently the change that is happening is making things worse and worse rather than better. I also find it strange that although people tend to say they want change because things are so bad when it comes to having a choice for change people don’t choose it. They stick with the same old, same old ways. A result of this is we are easily duped without even realizing it. Today it is very easy to deceive people and people can be fooled on so many levels if they don’t pay attention to what is going on until it is too late. You can’t just follow the mainstream media and expect to have a full understanding of current events.
The time is coming soon, hopefully, that many things will be revealed and these lost sheep will see how they have been deceived by believing in the corrupt world system rather than God’s righteous ways. These corrupt and evil people, who want to rule the world, are foolish and will eventually be revealed, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.” (Psa. 53:1). Many good people will finally see that they have been “played” by a sinister system of arrogant, selfish and unrighteous people who do not care about who they hurt on their way to the top and all its power and glory. These arrogant people are just chaff that will be blown away when God deals with them very soon. Isa. 41:29 says, “Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.”
God’s justice is coming soon. The change that many are looking forward to is not coming from a worldly solution but from our God. He is our God and we are His people. He will not forsake us or abandon us, He will save us. He has already sent His son to die for us so we are redeemed, so we know He will not abandon us now. Isa. 43:10-11 tells us this, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.” It is hard right now to understand all that is happening and as it is constantly changing, it becomes very confusing at times to know what God is doing. We do know though, if we keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and let Him lead us through all that is happening we will be safe and protected. Our faith will see us through. Here is His promise, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” (Isa.65:24). He knows our sorrows and what is happening and will help us. There is no other name under Heaven that can save us. He is our Saviour, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).
