Plan ‘B’ Always Works
Throughout scripture there is a Plan ‘A’ which never works, and a Plan ‘B” which succeeds as a recovery plan by God. It applies to people and nations and always occurs because of sin. Sin is always with us until the Eternal Age following the Kingdom Age.
It all began in the garden of Eden. God created Adam and Eve and God had a wonderful plan for them, that they and their descendants would have a holy relationship with God for eternity. They sinned and brought death and misery for themselves and their descendants. Plan ‘B’ was for God to send his only begotten Son to die in their place for their sins, so that any who believe in Him could be restored to that holy union with God.
Later God created a nation descended from Abraham and Sarah called Israel and Plan ‘A’ was that they would be a holy nation. “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” Exodus 19:5-6. Plan ‘A’ failed. Israel rebelled against God and became as corrupt as the other nations. Plan ‘B’ was that Jesus Christ would redeem the nation by his death and become their king. The Kingdom is yet to come, but those who believe in Him have already accepted Him as king. “And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” Luke 1:33.
The story of Israel and her king is the greatest story in the world. Israel’s destruction by the Assyrians was followed by their captivity and later their escape through the Caucasus Mountains into Europe. Most of them went ever westward to the wilderness areas, the ends of the known earth, western Europe and the British Isles. There they met their acceptance of Plan ‘B’ as they turned to Christianity, but the story is not complete. The Kingdom Age is coming. “At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.” Jeremiah 31:1-4.
It was prophesied that Israel would spread abroad to the ends of the earth, pushed there by the tribe of Joseph. “His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.” Deuteronomy 33:17. When Moses spoke that prophesy the end of the earth to the west was the British Isles and the end of the earth to the south was the south tip of Africa. The lost tribes of Israel (the Anglo-Saxon and kindred people) eventually went even farther than that, as far west as they could go to North America, as far north as they could go to Canada, and as far south and east as they could go to Australia and New Zealand. They became Christian nations. “He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.” Psalms 98:3.
These were the wilderness areas of the world, turned into fruitful productive nations. “They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.” Psalm 65:12-13. Plan ‘B’ is plan beautiful, and the lost tribes of Israel have rejoiced in the wilderness lands at the ends of the earth.
