British Israel Truth
I was aware of British Israel teachings from a young age from my parents. I know that it is nothing less than Bible truth – the word of God. For me it tends to answer all of the problems that have confronted me in life, including economic, religious, social, and physical issues, and that if we, as a nation would follow the laws of God we would have ‘Life Abundant’ which Jesus came to bring.
I recently read a small 1976 paper by Dorothy Abraham which exactly mirrors my beliefs. She says that having found the answers to many of today’s problems and questions through BI teachings, she found that her fears and worries tended to be diminished. Also, further study showed that God has a plan for mankind and that, if the church had taught this plan there would never have been the three hundred or more denominations, sects, and isms, that today are proclaiming what they think the truth is.
To me it shows things so clearly that I defy anyone to objectively read the Bible and not see that it is the history of the Israel race, chosen by God for a special purpose, for service to all nations. We are not meant to be a superior master race, but a servant, and an example to the world.
Under Moses, the Nation Israel was trained in the law of the Lord in order that she might demonstrate God’s perfect plan for mankind, not only in her own nation but to all others, so that eventually all would come into the Kingdom – possible for the whosoever will.
In the light of the British Israel truth it is seen that Abraham was the progenitor of the Israel race, to whom God said: “In thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.” Abraham was not a Jew, nor was Isaac or Moses who led the children of Israel out of Egypt, nor were the children of Israel Jews. To believe and teach that all these people were Jews is a great error.
The name Jew is not mentioned in the Bible until the Second Book of Kings and comes from the name ‘Jehudim’ meaning remnant; the remnant of Judah who came back to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. It was to this remnant that our Lord came and was rejected. The other tribes at this time were wandering through Europe where many of them left their identifying marks that remain to this day. To the Jews, part of one tribe only, this remnant, Jesus said “The Kingdom shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” i.e.., to the children of Israel.
Because we, the Israel people, have not known our identity and have not been taught the truth, today the world is in unspeakable chaos. Only the truth can make us free.
British Israel also teaches that the Laws of God were given for our guidance and, if kept, would do away with all lawlessness, crime and sickness. Only the laws of ordinances, the blood sacrifices, were fulfilled in the supreme sacrifice on Calvary; but the laws of the nation go on forever. Romans 7:1 says “Know ye not brethren, how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?”
“An eye for an eye” is simply a just law of compensation, not actually taking the other person’s eye as some would teach. God is a God of justice, mercy and truth. How much justice do we have in our present-day economy? Surely God’s way of having a man work out his penalty and then go free, is far better than putting him in prison, requiring the taxpayer to keep him and giving many a young man a criminal record. There will be no prisons in the Kingdom of God!
The law of the land, if kept, would produce food abundantly, with no pests requiring crops to be continually sprayed with pesticides as we are now obliged to do. Also, adherence to the Bible’s food laws, and living as God would have us live, our hospitals would not be overwhelmed, and we would be a happy, healthy people – an example to the world. God can and will heal all who obey him. “…If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians : for I am the Lord which health thee.” Exodus 15: 26.
Study of the Bible in the light of British Israel shows that the Church and the nation are two separate entities. The kingdom set up at Sinai was to endure forever, and the Church which began at Pentecost by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, was commissioned to go out into all the world and teach all nations, and bring them into the Kingdom.
The prophet Jeremiah and the Epistle to the Hebrews both tell us of the new covenant made with the House of Judah and the House of Israel. Who then is Israel if some people say that the Jews represent all of Israel?
The first covenant was made with the people of Israel and the new covenant is made with the same people, otherwise, the Bible does not make sense when it says “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, Not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, which My Covenant they brake, though I was an husband unto them; but this is the Covenant that I shall make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:31-33.
Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures”. Our greatest need in this world today is study of the Bible and a belief in God’s word. He further said, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead.”
After studying it, I believe that British Israel is the message of the Bible, and I have examined every attack against my views. If it is not true then we might as well “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.” But it is true, and I can say with St. Paul: “I am not ashamed; for I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12.
The British Israel truth has given me faith that cannot be shaken whatever happens: a glorious hope for the future and a wonderful vision of a lost world restored. It gives us too, a greater realization of life and of the Love of God. Through Christ, we keep the law, not because we are afraid of the penalty but because we love God and our neighbour and because we have been redeemed by the great sacrifice on Calvary.
Many have scoffed at British Israel truth – usually because they know nothing about it. We must remember the words of Gabriel who said: “And now I say unto you, refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of man it will come to nought, but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it, lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.” Acts 5:38-39.
I believe in British Israel because I know it is God’s plan and the way out of all chaos and which, if followed, would bring us all into righteousness and peace. Amen
