Who are the Ainu People of Japan?
The Ainu are an Indo-European people who live in Japan on the Island of Hokkaido. The Ainu people are sometimes called the original or indigenous people of Japan. They are ancient Indo-Europeans that migrated to Japan around 300 B.C. from the Altai Mountain region in western Mongolia via the Shandong area of China.
The first time I ever read about them was in the 1980s in National Geographic magazine. It said the Ainu were a European people who lived in northern Japan, but mostly on Japan’s most northerly island of Hokkaido Island.
Some Language Scholars say that the Finnish Ural-Altaic language is distantly related to the Ainu People. This is suggesting that the Ainu People migrated originally from the Ural-Altai mountain region.
The University of Victoria language department says the Korean and Japanese languages also came from the Altaic language group. This would also connect the Finns and Hungarian languages with the Ainu.
Where did these Ainu people actually originate? Today some Ainu people live in Egypt! This is the original homeland of the Ainu. And these Ainu people of Egypt live in Heliopolis! The exact location where the Israelites lived during their captivity before the Exodus!
In the late twentieth century, a speculation arose that people of the group ancestral to the Ainu may have been among the first to settle North America. This theory is based largely on skeletal and cultural evidence among tribes living in the western part of North America and certain parts of Latin America. It is possible that North America had several peoples among its early settlers and that the Ainu may have been one of them, perhaps even the first. The best-known example supporting this theory is probably Kennewick Man.
The University of Victoria (B.C.) did a study on the Kennewick Man and came to the conclusion that he was of Ainu heritage. The European remains of this Ainu man confirm that Europeans were here in the Pacific Northwest in and around 250 B.C.
We can trace the Ainu back to Egypt, who to this day still have living ancestors in and around Heliopolis! Which Israelite tribe did the Ainu originate from? Hopefully one day we can find that out!
Today in Japan after 2,300 years, the Ainu have mixed with the local Japanese population and there are not many with pure Ainu DNA left. But the culture lives on.
