The Blessed People!
The Word of God teaches us that there is a singular people that is especially blessed of God — and that people is Israel! And, as you will remember from our previous article in the February 2024 issue, Israel Is Not A Place — Israel is Jacob and his descendants. “And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.” Genesis 35:10
Therefore, Israel is only Jacob and his descendants. “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
This is not a blessing pronounced over the whole world; these words were spoken over the descendants of Israel.
God tells us that He loves His people Israel above all other people on the face of the earth and that He considers them to be the apple of His Eye. He chose them to be His special treasure and His own inheritance. “For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: but because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 7:6-8
How blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people He has chosen for Himself, to be His own inheritance! “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest! . . .” Psalms 65:4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him. In love, having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6 “But the Lord hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.” Deuteronomy 4:20 “For he is the framer of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The Lord of hosts is his name.” Jeremiah 10:16
Oh, what a blessed people! Jacob and his descendants! “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10
That chosen generation is Israel, as clearly indicated by the phrase, “which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” These were the promises that God made to Israel through the prophet Hosea, “Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God . . . and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.” Hosea 1:10 and 2:23
Beloved, this is not speaking of those people in Palestine today, it is speaking of the White European people. We are that people, chosen of God and blessed. History tells us that we descend from the Scythians, also known as the Sakka (or Sacae). This name Sakka was a contraction of the name Isaac, who was Jacob’s father. According to the inscription at Behistun, the Sakka were also called Gimiri, or Ghomri, which identifies them as the Khumri, and Khumri was the name the Assyrians gave the Israelites. The Welsh are still called Khumri to this day, though they spell it Cymry.
We are God’s special treasure, the apple of His eye, the lot of His inheritance. Therefore, let us act like it. Let us not be prideful or arrogant because of our blessed state. Let us not boast or seek after vanity. Let us seek Him above all others and walk in His ways. Let us trust in Him with all our heart. Let us endure hardness as a good soldier and press on toward the prize of that high calling to which we have been called. For we are the people who have been blessed of God above all others, and we owe our all to Him!
