Our Battle
People in the Israel Truth movement have been amazed at the opposition other Christians have had to our message. We are amazed because we do not teach any doctrine that disagrees with the teaching of Protestant denominations regarding the deity of Jesus Christ or his atoning sacrifice. We teach an alternate theory of history regarding the travels of the lost tribes of Israel and we back up our claims with prophecies from the Old Testament. For this we have been called unrepentant sinners, cultists, and heretics. I am amazed that we are called a cult and yet denominations that teach outright heresy are not opposed in any way.
Recently on BBC, it was reported that the “Vatican’s Commission for Religious Relations with Jews” released a document entitled “The Gifts and Calling of God Are Irrevocable” in which was written “that the Jews are participants in God’s salvation is theologically unquestionable, but how that can be possible without confessing Christ explicitly, is and remains an unfathomable divine mystery”. This statement by the Vatican goes against what Jesus Christ said:, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18. Also, the apostle Peter, speaking to Jews, said, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12. Why would Protestant denominations label the Israel Truth movement a cult and say nothing about the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church?
Certain Israel Truth writers have come up with the answer. Pastor Jory Steven Brooks wrote in an article which appeared in “Thy Kingdom Come” magazine a couple of months ago, “Let us realize that the opposition we encounter to British-Israel truth is not due to our lack of Scriptural and historic support, but is a Spiritual battle”. Also, Martin Lightfoot wrote in a recent issue of “The Covenant Nations” magazine, published by the British Israel World Federation, that the administrators of Wikipedia internet encyclopedia have opposed corrections to their errors on the subject of British-Israelism, and have even opposed the insertion of correct information. Mr. Lighfoot then quoted the apostle Paul who wrote, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12. The late Pastor George Southwick of California came to this same conclusion several years ago and quoted the same verse in one of his sermons. We are in a spiritual battle.
Israel Truth is not dead. We still put out books and magazines, hold meetings and broadcast on the radio and television in different parts of the world, and have websites on the internet. We have been reduced in numbers as many Christians have broken the ninth commandment by bearing false witness against us. People should study our message carefully before criticizing us. We do not need to argue with them. We just need to present the truth and let the truth speak for itself. The apostle Paul said to put on the whole armour of God. The various pieces of armour represent truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God. We are to face Satan the enemy, not give up, and not turn our backs on him. Jesus Christ will crush Satan’s head. The word of God going forth and the Holy Spirit working in the hearts of men will cure them of their blindness. Let us pray for that miracle to happen.
