A Wake-up Call

A Wake-up Call

Back in the early years of the twentieth century Henri Poincare wrote, “Doubting everything or believing everything are two equally convenient solutions, both of which save us from thinking.” It’s sad, but I believe most today fashion their opinions on what is conveyed to them via television, books, lectures, etc. and never really think deeply about subjects. And so, they find themselves doubting anything outside of their conditioning, which is to believe most anything they hear from what they consider unimpeachable sources, like journalists, government leaders and members of the cloth. Sadly too, the trend today on television is mainly anti-God or a portrayal of a new reality of a God that is non-threatening.  The only book that seems to be avoided is the greatest book of all, The Holy Bible. This is why a true Christian is so often shunted aside when he or she brings the name of Jesus Christ into a discussion or tries to put a Biblical spin upon such matters as morals in our society, leadership of our nations and the direction we seem to be heading. More often than nought the Christian soldier will be looked upon as naïve and negative and failing to see the good in our present-day society and leadership decisions, as if all the evil oozing out of it didn’t exist.

My friends, one of great benefits of being awakened to the Israel Truth is to be able to understand world events, to see behind the statements and actions of world leaders and to see the fallacy behind present day ecclesiastical teaching. Yet, knowledge is not without its price, as Solomon’s words in Ecclesiastes 1:18 express, “For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.” The Knox Bible interprets these latter words as “adds to the load we bear.”

Still, I suppose our load is really quite light when we think of the great blessing of having the blindness lifted by the Lord God Almighty. We may question why God would choose us for this unveiling, we may even think of ourselves as unworthy, but I`m certain there is a reason. One thing we clearly understand is the prophet Isaiah`s words, which signal the times just before the return of Christ, “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…” (60:2) As every reader knows, these words were spoken only to Israel and only a blind man can miss their implication. As enemy nations have grown stronger around us, the onetime great Israel nations are falling apart. Debt-ridden, militaristic, and morally bankrupt, we are looking at a short-term uncertain future. And why! Simply put, gross darkness has covered the people. We have forgotten our Christ, the glory of His people Israel. It is unbelievable that we have sunk so low, even to the point that most Israelites no longer know Him as the Incarnate God who died for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification.

Jesus said, `When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith in the earth?` Well, certainly the Christian Faith has been watered down to the point where it has no resemblance to the faith taught by our forebears. Today it is about futurism, ecumenism, church festivities and so on. Still, should this little verse, “will he find faith on the earth” have been interpreted as “will he find the faith in the earth?” For one, the Amplified Version of the Bible has this interpretation. This certainly casts light on why present church doctrine is so watered down from the message delivered by forebears.

I wish I could go into all the fallacies’ we live with today but in this short article I can only touch on one example of modern-day doctrine, this being the Rapture, whereas the doctrine states that two people are in the field and the Christian is taken up to meet God and the other (the unbeliever) left to face tribulation. Yet, looking only at the one piece of evidence, this flies in the face of Jesus’ own words. In describing the end of the age in Matthew 24, he makes these three statements (verses 37-39).

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (verse 37) “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark” (verse 38) “And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (verse 39) “The shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

“But as the days of Noe were.” Genesis 6 gives us a complete picture of conditions as they were, “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually.” God goes on to say, “The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence………And God said to Noah. The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”

So, if the “coming of Jesus” is patterned after “as the days of Noe were” then it is clear that just as God intended to destroy the wicked then, it means the same now. To accept otherwise is a case of being thoroughly duped. What’s the old expression, “Say a thing often enough and it becomes the truth in our minds.” This is what has happened here, the false doctrine has been preached so much, the truth is unfathomable to most Christians. They will be meeting Christ all right, but their destination is here, left behind, just as were Noah and his family. My article “The Pre-Tribulation Rapture – Deception or Truth?” is available upon request to those who want to study this further.

By the way, I have always liked what Enoch wrote, [Enoch lived in the days of Noah and his writings have been quoted in the Scriptures, so obviously they were given much credence] “Wherewith he blessed the elect and the righteous, who will be living in the day of the tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed.” And I can’t remember where I read it, but one writer relates the “giving in marriage” to the rampant divorce and re-marriage, wife-swapping, and multiple relationships.” This certainly fits, just as the pleasure seeking, total pre-occupation on sports, entertainment, etc. fits the eating and drinking of Noah’s time.

Still, let’s look at this relatively new doctrine of the Rapture, in light of what Poincare wrote, “Doubting everything or believing everything are two equally convenient solutions, both of which save us from thinking.” In the case of the Rapture, doubting everything outside of what a Christian has been conditioned to believe and believing most anything they hear from what they consider unimpeachable sources [ministers, televangelists] really does save Christians “from thinking for themselves.”

Yet, this is so true in almost every aspect of our lives, whether social, economic and governmental. We are not thinking for ourselves, consequently the forces of evil have been able to fashion the world pretty much as they desire. Our only saving grace at this time is knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Almighty God, will soon be returning. I suppose our remaining responsibility as watchmen is to continue to sow the seeds far and wide so that our brethren around the world will begin to think for themselves and prepare others for the great and terrible day of the Lord. Jeremiah (5:29-31) had these wise words for us, “…. A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land. The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so; and what ye do in the end thereof.”

Brooks Alden

Brooks came to the message in 1991 and began writing for Thy Kingdom Come in 2001. His subjects are varied, although prophecy is his favourite. He is a former bank executive and businessman and is now a business consultant. He has authored several books and articles on the Israel Truth and is a regular speaker on the subject. He is co-editor of the magazine and has been a Board Member with the Association for a number of years. Brooks believes that more than any other time in the Christian era is it more important to sow the seeds of the Israel Truth and the Gospel of the Kingdom. He thinks that as in the days of Hosea, Israel today is being swallowed up and the future is dimmer and dimmer without the Lord Jesus Christ as our Beacon. As iot was with Hosea, we True Israel must reach that point where we will say, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord ……he will heal us … and he will bind us up.” All the signs suggest there is not much time.
