A Tale Of Two Women

The first part of the tale is known to most people, about how Eve was deceived by the serpent and was expelled from the garden. The second part is about how the nation Israel in the Bible sinned and was expelled from God’s favor, but Jesus paid the penalty for her sin, to give her access to paradise.“ And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” Genesis 3:20. The name Eve means life. Unfortunately, her descendants all died. Adam shared in her sin, passing on death to all of us. Not just death, but also suffering through hard labor in farming for Adam and men, and labor in childbearing for Eve and women. There has been a lessening of the curses because of Christianity, but death is still with us.
The other woman, the nation that married God at Sinai, was named Israel by her husband. The name means ruling like God. She was meant to be the queen of heaven. She sinned by yielding to Satan’s lies but did not die. Instead, God divorced her. Then He sent her away into the wilderness. “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.” Hosea 2:14-15. The modern-day Israelites (the Anglo-Saxon and kindred peoples) found their joy in the wilderness lands of Northwestern Europe, the British Isles, North America, Australia, etc. Why would Israel sing in the wilderness? She sang hymns and spiritual songs because she became Christian and was blessed by God. At present we have temporarily turned away from God, but God is not finished with us.
“And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.” Hosea 2:19-20. This prophecy was about a generation far in the future from the prophet Hosea’s time. Israel should have been put to death for her adulteries with foreign gods, but instead her husband died. Yes, God died on the cross, and Israel became a widow. “Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” Isaiah 54:4-5.
There is a requirement for Israel to satisfy before she can marry God again. She must be Christian. She must be born again of the Holy Spirit and become a pure virgin. I believe this will come about by the cleansing of Israel. “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Matthew 13:41-43. The descendants of Eve perished in the flood. They were ruled by the flesh, not the Spirit. Only eight souls were saved. The coming judgement on the Anglo-Saxon and kindred people will not be that severe, but it will be severe. I believe half of them will die before the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is established. The chaff will be burned up, but the wheat will be gathered into the barn. “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” Matthew 24:38-40. This judgement will be executed by God and will result in a cleansed Israel ready for the kingdom. When Satan and his followers are taken out of the world the Israelites remaining will follow Jesus Christ their King.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:22. Jesus Christ is called the last Adam in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.” 1 Corinthians 15:45-47. Eve was not really the mother of all living. Israel is the mother of all living because out of Israel came the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Out of Israel came the preaching of the gospel to the ends of the earth. Only by Jesus can anybody receive the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit people are just the walking dead.
There is confusion about the wife of God. Is it the New Jerusalem or redeemed Israel? They are the same thing. God cannot marry a thing of gold and precious stones. The city is dead without people in it. Who are the people in the city? The answer is obvious from the book of Revelation. “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:” Revelation 21:10-12. Of course, anyone who receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can enter the city.
I hope everyone reading this article is a Christian and ready to meet the Lord when He comes. If you are not ready to meet Him, I pray that you confess to Him that you are a sinner and ask Him to come into you by the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, you may be cut off from Israel and be denied entrance to the kingdom. You could die any day. Do not gamble with your eternal destiny.
