Rob MacDormand

Readers like Rob MacDormand’s articles because they express a great love of the Lord and are written in such a way as to be easily understood. Perhaps he gained a great insight from his mother who for years was a contributing writer to The Prophetic Expositor, the former magazine of British-Israel-World Federation. He writes a great deal about blessings and curses, how both have affected our Israel nations, and he emphasizes the great need to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom whenever the opportunity arises. He does so in his personal ministry.

Rob is a graduate of the University of Alberta, was engaged in the oil industry for many years and now is involved in city planning. He is a third generation believer in the Israel message and has a great interest in what is going to happen spiritually to our brethren as the end of the age draws closer.

In the midst of the turmoil in the world we have the answer to the world's problems. It is simple. We are to follow one person, Jesus Christ, and not turn aside and follow anyone else. There are many other voices in the world besides His, but His words are life to us. Any words that do not agree with His words will bring death.

There was one Remembrance Day service I remember very well. There were members of the Canadian military there, veterans, cadets, members of the scouting movement, police officers, political leaders and the general public. A Protestant minister spoke at the assembly. Most of his sermon I agreed with. He spoke about the history of the Canadian military in various wars of the past and the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. He stressed the need for peace as much as possible between us and the Muslims, with which I would agree. However, he said something I could not agree with. He called Islam "our sister religion". I believe that statement goes against what the Bible says.

It is important for Christians to recognize the existence of Satan and the host of evil spirits that follow him. They are creatures that will oppose us. I believe they hate the Israel Truth movement because they hate the truth. Jesus was introduced to the conflict with evil as soon as He received the Holy Spirit. The devil (Satan) tried to stop his ministry at the outset. Jesus’ first act in his ministry was to resist the devil.

Only by the blood of a perfect sacrifice can anyone be made acceptable to God. God said, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways". Isaiah 55:8. God's way is that we MUST be justified only by the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. There is no other way to gain favour with God.

The current turmoil in the world may have people questioning whether God cares. We talk about the greatness and power of God and wonder why He lets chaos prevail. We must realize that we are the victims of our own choices and the choices of others.

The prophet Job in the Bible was a righteous man who suffered because of the choices of Satan. Also, he received condemnation from his friends because of their sins. David was a righteous man who suffered because of the jealousy of Saul. Jeremiah was put in a dungeon because he spoke God's word. John the Baptist was beheaded because he preached the law of God to Herod. “They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth." Hebrews 11: 37, 38. These people, our ancestors, realized that God is not the author of chaos; it is the result of sin. They suffered for the sins of others. All of us today suffer for the sins of our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, who chose to yield to Satan rather than God.
