Brooks Alden

Brooks came to the message in 1991 and began writing for Thy Kingdom Come in 2001. His subjects are varied, although prophecy is his favourite. He is a former bank executive and businessman and is now a business consultant. He has authored several books and articles on the Israel Truth and is a regular speaker on the subject. He is co-editor of the magazine and has been a Board Member with the Association for a number of years.

Brooks believes that more than any other time in the Christian era is it more important to sow the seeds of the Israel Truth and the Gospel of the Kingdom. He thinks that as in the days of Hosea, Israel today is being swallowed up and the future is dimmer and dimmer without the Lord Jesus Christ as our Beacon. As iot was with Hosea, we True Israel must reach that point where we will say, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord ......he will heal us  ... and he will bind us up.” All the signs suggest there is not much time.

In his “Tale of Two Cities” Charles Dickens began with the following Phrase, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair ......” The good adjectives expressed here by Dickens bear no resemblance to today’s Israel world, do they? With the huge debt hanging over our heads like a guillotine, tens of millions of poor in our Israel nations, wealth confiscated, freedoms lost, etc., it is impossible to relate to the best of times, indeed it may simply be the worst it has ever been. We have great knowledge but certainly not wisdom; it is primarily a world of disbelief or scepticism, and hope seems to have all but vanished as we grope our way through a maze of controls, fears and lost values. Today, Dickens might be tempted to write, “It is the worst of times, an age of foolishness touched with fleeting pleasures to keep us occupied; un-statesman and unscrupulous leadership keeping us in the dark while pursuing their one world goals to our ultimate harm.

201211-alden2Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5: 17,18)

A funny thing about our society is that people just want to offer advice, whether or not they have studied the matter on which they are advising. So often, they are simply repeating what they have heard and very often this means taking a negative view. You see a lot of this with health issues, particularly if an individual is following a holistic or Biblical path. The Bible Food Law is an easy target for such advisors because so few Christians follow them and/or even know much about them. So, if a person does adhere to such Law, they stand out and even they can begin to wonder about the wisdom of them. A teenager following God’s wisdom might be faced with a comment like, “Hey, that’s totally wack!” Or, as I encountered when I adopted the Food Laws many years ago, “you’re being too legalistic.” You know, this came from a man with a strong Christian background, a Bible teacher, and I still remember him sitting in his chair, looking very drawn and I know for a fact he has experienced many health problems. Yet, there he sat smugly saying, “Hey, haven’t you read Acts 10” and then proceeded to explain how Peter’s vision demonstrated that the Food Laws codified by Moses at Sinai were abolished. He quoted verses 13-15 to prove his contention, “Rise, Peter: kill and eat”; Peter responds, “Not so Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean” and the response, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.” Of course, he failed to say that Peter obviously didn’t believe this (Verse 17) or that the real meaning came clear to Peter (Verse 28) that the vision was about men, not animals, and that God was simply showing him that Peter should not call any man unclean. You see, God wasn’t approving a change of diet, and this goes for other verses quoted to prove forbidden foods acceptable, whether 1st Timothy 4:4-5, Romans 14:14, 1st Corinthians 10:25, 27 or whatever. A close analysis of each of these passages will demonstrate that the meaning is other than what the opponents of the Food Laws desire it to be.

Armistice Day London, England late 1940sArmistice Day London, England late 1940’s

I had an uncle who was one of those fortunate individuals who had everything going for him, including huge baseball talent. He was such an accomplished pitcher that he was invited to the Boston Red Sox spring training camp. Instead, he joined the army during the First World War and soon sent overseas. As he explained his experience to his mother and father in a letter from the hospital, he wrote, “On the 16th of June our battery was being shelled heavily with 12" shells. Two guns were hit and twenty of our gunners wounded. The remembrance is so horrible that I nearly lose my head on the thought of it. The major soon gave orders to leave the guns. Four of the boys rushed to a dugout about 50 feet distant, where we found five other machine gun fellows. We were there about ten minutes when a 4.7 came along and buried the lot of us. I was the only one that survived, the other eight being killed. I just came to as they were shovelling me out of the mud.” He went on “I was wounded quite badly, having two wounds in head, three in chest, three in left arm, one in right arm, four in left leg, two in right leg, shot through left ear, end of toe shot off, one finger broken, two bones in left foot broken, small pieces (shrapnel) in face, my right arm, leg and side paralysed, and I was stone deaf, so I surely had my share.”

911-aldenIf you recall past articles penned by this editor, you might recall that the evil Esau Dominion reached its peak when it began its “Harvest Stage” on or around September 11th, 2001 (911) and from that moment on, our Israel countries have witnessed a huge loss of prestige and wealth, while Israelites themselves have had our freedoms curtailed and our lives and the lives of our children caught up in a bondage as never before experienced.  Those who study the Scriptures, who have been blessed to learn their true identity, recognize we are in “the time of Jacob’s trouble” as foretold by the prophet Jeremiah (30:7)  and that it has accelerated to that “time of trouble such as never was “ in our nation’s existence, as pointed out by the prophet Daniel. (Dan. 12:1). The ironic thing is that most Israelites don’t recognize our peril, they are too caught up trying to make a living and revelling in all the pleasures Esau and their collaborators provide to keep us pacified.
