When You Pray

One of the certainties of Holy Writ is the surety that when we pray there is Someone Who listens, hears and answers our prayers. There is Someone Who is a Father and Who knows our every need, Jesus Christ declared. We do not always get what we want - nevertheless, if the answer is 'No' there is a blessing for us even in this, though we cannot see it at the moment.

Prayer is something not only as necessary as breathing, but something everyone can take part in. Prayer connects our human weakness to the Divine Omnipotence and makes it possible for God to perform His 'Wonders' in our midst and through us in our lives. It is significant that Our Lord spent much time in private prayer.

When we are tempted to think we are not doing much and cannot break through for God in this present world situation, let all of us remember that we can always 'pray' - and if our prayers are motivated by genuine Biblical Faith, we shall still remove mountains of obstacles and difficulties. The Key to our 'Exodus' from the present chaos, which our Family of Christian Nations are suffering, lies not in greater and greater production of 'things' material, but in believing prayer according to II Chronicles 7:14.

The promise of our Coming King still holds good, 'Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you'. Here is a Divine Promise and Principle we can act upon throughout the unfolding year. We can be sure there will be no failure on God's part - for with God, all things are possible!

Over the years past, our faithful Commissioners, Organizers and Workers have made their grand contribution of a continuing series of Bible Readings - they are too numerous to name here, but we remember with much gratitude and praise to God, all their labours and we know 'The Word of the Lord' shall accomplish whereunto it was sent.

Let us then go forth with the words of Jesus Christ in our hearts - 'all things are possible if ye believe'.
