THE KINGDOM
by Frank Dowsett

The Kingdom of God is the most misunderstood, and abused subject of the Bible. And this, despite the fact that The Kingdom of God is not only the main Theme of the Bible, but is the Object to which the entire Bible, with all its teachings, is directed. There is no greater, or more important subject in the whole of God's Word.

The Kingdom of God is Not a spiritual condition within our hearts. Without question, the conditions and benefits and power of the Kingdom can be made manifest to others as a result of the spiritual condition of the individual heart and mind which has been consecrated to God. But this fact gives us no right to spiritualise the Kingdom into something that it is not.

Also, the Kingdom of God is Not situated in some nebulous and undefined location which is so blandly referred to as "heaven." The long held, and taught, view that when Christians die they automatically and instantly go straight into the Kingdom located in some haven in the sky for the rest of eternity, playing harps and waving palm leaves whilst flitting from cloud to cloud, is an insult to both God and His Word, and an indictment against the so-called shepherds of God's flock who promulgate such rubbish.

God's Word, the Bible, is quite clear in its definition of ‘The Kingdom of God.' Firstly, it is a Literal kingdom. It is just as literal as any other kingdom or nation that has ever existed. It was initiated when God formed the nation of Israel, which is clearly stated to be God's Kingdom.

Secondly, it is, and Is to Continue to be, located here on the earth. There is not one verse in the entire Bible which states otherwise.

The Bible says that this Kingdom was formed, here on earth, as the nation of Israel. (See Gen. 12:2, Exodus 19:6, 1 Chron. 29:33). The Bible says that this Kingdom continued, and was to continue in this form, containing both good and evil (wheat and tares, good and bad fish), until a specifically appointed time. (Jer. 31:35-36), Matt. 13:24-43, 13:47-50)

The Bible says that at this appointed time, the Kingdom's final and everlasting King would assume rulership over it, On the Earth. (Luke 1:31-33)

The Bible says that the final triumph of this Kingdom will bring perfection, peace and prosperity to the whole word, and indeed to the whole of God's creation, to the great honour and glory of Almighty God. (Isaiah 65:17-25, Rev. 21:1-7)

This is the very purpose for which it was originally formed and intended, and the Bible says that God's Word and Promises are without repentance, and will Not return unto Him void. They Shall accomplish the purpose which He intended. (Rom. 11:29, Isa. 55:11)
