A proof that God exists is that our world is a world of astounding design. Life as we know it, is entirely interdependent on other forms of life. Do we realize to what extent we humans are dependent for our continued existence, for instance, on the life and activity of a very little thing? That little thing is the tiny bee. Just think for a moment. What would the world be like in the near future without the bee? Really, without the work of the bee our food supplies would eventually cease. How could any flowering plant, shrub, tree or grass reproduce itself without the aid of the little bee. Plants need bees to pollinate flowers so that they may reproduce their kind, season after season, thus providing a continuous supply of food for animals and man. If the little bee suddenly ceased to exist, then probably, we would have grown our last grain crops, our last fruit trees, our last vegetables, our last herbs, and so on. All would eventually die for lack of food.
What a wonderful balance in the provision of food our Eternal God has arranged for man's sustenance. All living things depend for their existence on other living things. Life cannot exist for long by itself.
It is a good question to put to those who subscribe so strongly to the doctrine of evolution: "Which came first, the bee or the flowers?" Did the flowers slowly evolve over millions of years without the aid of the bee? If so, how? No! Also, did the bee evolve without the flowers? If so, how? No! The continuation of life in all plants and animals has always depended on and still needs to depend on the activities of the busy little bee to pollinate and fertilize the vital seed of life in the flower.
This interdependence of life forms reveals the existence of a Great Designer, a Great Architect, a Great Builder of the Universe. |
