When
Manasseh rebelled and broke away from Ephraim in 1776 –
they continued to march under Israel’s colours. When
the South seceded from the North they reverted back to the
flag of Ephraim, but retained Manasseh’s number, thirteen
stars. They set them up “way marks.” (Jer. 31:17-21).
